The Geeky Texan does... Reusable lunch bags

Aren’t these super cute and they are so easy. My kids want to create less waste especially my son. So I did some searching and found some ideas on how to make reusable lunch bags.

These fit a sandwich and well about any snacks the kids want to take to lunch. All I have to do is flip them inside out and wipe them down.

I am able to make three from a fat quarter. I put the fat quarter in half and cut three 6.5 inch wide stripes.

I than ironed them and cut Heat and Bond vinyl to 6 inch by 17inch pieces. I followed the directions and ironed it on.

I folded the top down on each side about one inch. I took an iron to press it (just make sure not to touch the vinyl within the iron).

Attach hook and loop tape on each side. I bought super sticky stuff which helped to bond it well.

I than sewed a quick straight stitch across the hook and lioptape. I than folded the piece in and half to sew up each side, making a simple bag.

Turn it right side out and lightly iron it to flatten it out and make sure to pull it apart so the vinyl doesn’t stick together. I made ten of these for the kids (five each ) in about 45 minutes.

Now we have reusable bags for the new school year.

Thanks for stopping by!
